ABOUT ME

If you've seen or heard me before you will know that I'm Scottish, haling all the way from the granite city of Aberdeen. I lived in Manchester for a few years, but now I've been adopted by the scenic village of Cookham just outside London which is much warmer than a cold Aberdeen.  

 

I'm currently a producer and presenter on BFBS The Forces Station working at Brize Norton. Before that, I hosted The Breakfast Show on Marlow FM. In 2018 I was nominated for Best Newcomer to radio and in both 2019 & 2020 I won Silver award for Best Female Presenter at the Community Radio Awards. 

 

I've been a freelance Presenter for 8 years and have presented across many different formats including hosting live events, light entertainment, news, current affairs, and corporate videos. These have been live and pre-recorded; on location or in studios and both scripted and improvised. I specialise in, Light Entertainment and Documentaries. In 2020 I featured in BBC 1's Young Welsh & Pretty Minted.

In my spare time (which occasionally I have) I sing, dance, go to the gym, I don't like staying there long so it's a quick HIT session and out again. In 2017 I started to play the violin something that I always wanted to do as a child. I watched some YouTube videos and started learning from there, I don't think I'll be performing in the Philharmonic Orchestra anytime soon but it's still a nice hobby to have (perhaps my neighbours say different).  

 

Qualifications

I have an HND in Animal Care and Management. I have a strong interest in self-development and wellbeing and in 2013 qualified as a Life Coach and Reiki Practitioner and believe that reiki and a holistic lifestyle can help both mind and body. While working for Luxury Family TV a lot of reports I had to script write myself so in 2015 I undertook a short course in Journalism which lead me to study for Diploma in Journalism with the NCTJ. I'm also a member of Equity and hold an enhanced DBS. 

 

Interesting Facts About Me

Although being Scottish I've never tried haggis as I don't eat red meat. I love dogs and a bit of a doggy expert when it comes to breeds, I'm also a supporter of many animal charities and an Ambassador for Partners For Change Ethiopia. In 2015 I mentored Buile Hill High School in Salford in their Dragons Den project, we won 1st prize for best entrepreneurial product and came close 2nd for most sales generated out of 20 schools across the region. And I'm told by my friends I have a rather freakishly Episodic memory for remembering random facts, dates and unusual events which comes in very handy.
